The current Croatian Prime Minister, Jadranka Kosor, did not accept the election defeat well, so she set an unusual precedent.
In her speech, Kosor did not congratulate the winners of the election, and at the election headquarters of the HDZ they greeted her with applause and the lines "Oh Croatian mother, don't be sad".
"First of all, on behalf of myself and the HDZ leadership, I want to thank all the voters, everyone who voted for us, expressed their trust in us and supported us.
These were the most difficult elections so far, in which the HDZ entered in a completely unequal position. We were not given an equal race.

She said her party remains firmly on its feet. She took advantage of the opportunity and highlighted the merits of her government's entry into the EU and the initiation of the fight against corruption.
"I want to say that we will continue to work hard, but no one can take away our results from us, no one can take away from us the fact that Croatia entered into negotiations and achieved another historical goal that Dr. Franjo Tuđman outlined a long time ago - Croatia becomes a member of the EU on July 1, 2013," said Kosor, reports Večernji.hr
