Definition It is a rare chest malformation by a protrusion of sternum and ribs When the chest wall develop the cartilage that connect the ribs usually grows flat the chest The cartilage grow abnormally causing unequal growth in area where rib connect to sternum It develop during childhood and get more as children go through puberty anniet250999@gmail.com

Treatment : • 1) BRACING : - Orthotic brace can be used - It involve custom fitted brace that fit on outside of chest - Wear at least 8 hrs a day till puberty • 2) SURGERY : - When chest brace is ineffective or passed puberty - Ravitch procedure is done that involve removing the abnormal cartilage and placing the breastbone in normal position anniet250999@gmail.com
