Limnophila aromatica, also known as "Aromatic Limnophila" or "Rice Paddy Herb," is a tropical aquatic plant native to Southeast Asia. It can be found in countries such as India, Thailand, and Malaysia. In its natural habitat, this plant often grows in marshy areas, pond margins, and slow-moving streams.

Limnophila aromatica is a popular choice for aquascaping due to its vibrant color and unique leaf shape. The plant features long, slender leaves that are green on the upper side and reddish-purple on the undersides. Under optimal conditions, the plant can develop a reddish hue throughout its entire structure. Its striking appearance can add depth and visual interest to any aquascape.

This plant can tolerate a range of substrates but prefers a nutrient-rich and well-draining substrate. Providing moderate to high lighting conditions and supplemental CO2 can promote its healthy growth and intensify its coloration. It has a moderate growth rate and can quickly fill out an aquarium if not managed properly. Limnophila aromatica prefers slightly acidic to neutral water conditions, with a pH range of 6.0-7.5. It thrives in temperatures between 68-82°F (20-28°C). Providing a nutrient-rich substrate, adequate lighting, and a consistent water temperature will contribute to successful growth.
