Description
On this edition of the Underground diagram many of the lines have been redesigned to produce a different layout. The Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines between Rayners Lane and Ruislip have been redrawn as a diagonal, the Northern line to High Barnet is now a vertical line, the District Line to Richmond is also vertical with changes to the shape of the Thames so that Richmond remains near the river. The Metropolitan line from Hammersmith to Barking has been renamed the Hammersmith & City line and is coloured pink. There is more space on the right hand side of the diagram to show the new DLR lines under construction between Westferry and Beckton, this results in the East London, Central and District lines being elongated. Network SouthEast lines are shown on this map as white lines with black edges and the North London line is also included. Diamond symbols have been used to show the closure of Mansion House and Edgware Road (Bakerloo) Stations. The River Thames is represented as thin parallel lines on this diagram and the Greenwich foot tunnel is now shown passing underneath the
river. On the front cover there is an advert for the Tube Centenary Exhibition at the London Transport Museum.
