This is an easy to grow, low-light, bulb plant. It is a very robust aponogeton which will tolerate most water conditions. The bright green, semi-translucent leaves have undulating margins and can reach over 50cm in length and 4cm in width in optimum conditions. Under high light the leaves can develop a red tinge. Though they don’t grow as tall as some of the other aponogetons, A. ulvaceus is one of the fastest growing and least demanding of the aponogetons and a single bulb can develop up to 40 individual leaves.
