The Excitement of New Beginnings

The Fool is a spontaneous traveler, standing at the beginning of their journey. This Major Arcana card is the first in the Rider Waite Tarot deck and it's 0. It represents a point of departure, announcing new beginnings and adventures yet to be discovered.

In the illustration, we can see the Fool alongside a precipice, venturing forward without paying much attention to the potential dangers that may arise along the way. The little white dog accompanying them serves as a guide, seemingly cautioning them to pause and think before acting, encouraging them to be more careful. However, the Fool is a pure soul, a free spirit characterized by impulsiveness and carefreeness.

I see the Fool as a young person, lacking life experience, diving headfirst into situations without fully understanding what they are getting into. Their impulses guide them and do not contemplate their decisions.

Their thirst for adventure and fun leads them to act hastily, disregarding the dangers that may present themselves as they progress on their journey. They have no fear or concerns, which could, eventually, cause problems in the future.

Despite all this, the Fool is a very positive card as it represents new beginnings. In love readings, it could mean the emergence of new romantic relationships, although they may be temporary.

In work and business-related readings, it may indicate the start of a new job or significant changes. It can also allude to relocations or travels, always connected to fresh starts. Everything is new and fresh due to the innocent and enthusiastic nature of the Fool.

As long as one takes into account the warning to keep their eyes open and their head on their shoulders, this card is quite positive. Naturally, it is essential to consider the accompanying cards in the reading, as their interpretation can be nuanced by the context.

I wrote several posts about tarot some time ago for a website I used to have. The thing is: someone hacked it and I took it down but I still have some of those articles on my pc and I thought they could be useful for new tarot readers. Here’s the first one. They might not be great, but I don’t want them to go to waste, abandoned, and forgotten in a sad PC folder. My plan is to post them here and then write more new content. Thank you for reading and blessed be.
