Need advice for mouse

hi sketchupers, greetings from georgia,
I’m going buy mouse & need advice from experiencing users,
my mouse died & need new one, in the past I bought some chiep mouses and now I dont want repeat this mistake again.
shortly, I think buy logitech mx master 3, it need me for sketchup, keyshot, & sometimes for photoshop, I’m mac user,
maybe someone give me advice for another mouse
(I have 50$ for this & think buy it on ebay, of course used one, new one is more expencive)
thanks in advance

I have this mouse, i got it almos 3 years ago, its been one of the best investments I´ve done for my work, I don’t think there’s a better mouse on the market than the MX Master 3. Logitech mice are the best for professional use, I have the Logitech Performance MX as well, I don’t use it anymore because it doesn’t have support, the drivers haven’t been updated anymore for a couple years now, but it was my main mouse for over ten years it still works perfectly it never got damaged and my wife uses it now cause she doesn’t need all the extra buttons to be configurable as I do, anyway she loves it, its ergonomic and precise. The MX Master 3 will improve your work drastically. Go for it!

I have 3 of them (work, home and my wife’s), I’ve had MX2’s and the original MX, I’ve got 3 colleagues who have bought them after trying mine.

I think it’s safe to say I recommend them.

thanks for your answer, I’ve made dicision after your comment, I’ll buy it,
but bad thing is I must wait it 2 week, when it arrived in georgia :frowning: here not found or unreal prices, I found some on ebay, on good condition & buy it tomorrow
thank you & I hope ever I see all of yours on basacamp in the near future

I also have the MX keyboard, I’m no typist with most of my typing being done with 2 fingers but it’s great keyboard and along with the mouse can be paired with 3 devices and switched between them with a single keypress.
I have them paired with my work pc and my iPad, press the button on the keyboard and the one on the mouse and hey-presto I can mouse/type on my iPad, do it again and I’m back to the pc.

The Logitech options software enables you to reprogram keys globally or per app so for example I have the 2 keyboard brightness buttons mapped copy and paste globally and one of the mouse buttons mapped within SketchUp to flip between parallel and perspective modes.

I use the earlier MX2 model and I too have three of them. One thing you ought to do is to go to a store that sells mice and try them with your hand - the most important thing about a mouse is that it has to fit your hand. For instance, if you are left-handed the MX is not for you. I was wary about it at first as it is largish but found that it is very good for my hand in spite of that. I have a couple of somewhat dysfunctional fingers that make me sensitive about these issues.

I starting learning 3D modeling on my 45, Before that, I rarely had to touch the computer and I didn’t even pay attention to the mouse. It’s been the last 2 years that I spend more time with the computer, and 2-3 cheap mice broked. Now I decided to buy a Logitech, taking into account your advice but in Georgia it costs around $200, and I preferred to buy a second-hand one for $50 on eBay.

If you can find an mx2 much cheaper than a mx3 then it could be well worth getting it, the difference is very small, the only thing to watch for is that secondhand the mx2 could be much more used.
It has a rubber like coating for grip that can get warn or even a bit sticky (like switches found in older cars)

I’ve used a Logitech M510 for many years. Always had great performance from it. I’ve worn out one of them after about 8 years. Bought another one to replace it. I bought another one to use with my laptop and recently added a third one for SketchUp for iPad. It works perfectly.

I use Logitech always including the wireless solar keyboard. It’s super quiet. Very much like a laptop. I don’t spend big bucks on mice as between SU and AutoCAD I wear them out every few years.
The mouse is still good for everything else though

MX2 on the left, MX3 on the right.
The MX2 was bought new in 2019, used daily, and replaced by the MX3 at the beginning of this year. Nothing wrong with the MX2 other than we needed a new one for a laptop so I got the MX3 and the MX2 is used whenever the laptop is in the office.
(Note the wear on the MX2’s left mouse button, the MX3 doesn’t appear to have the same finish so I don’t think it’ll wear the same)

Yes … Everyone is talking about the mouse model itself, but no one has commented on the purchase method. You know, this mouse is also used by gamers. And they can kill the equipment (even Logitech) in a few months. Because as others write here Master MX3 is really a master. But if someone sells this mouse and writes that he has it only 3-4 months, there is a fear that he is not doing it because he is dissatisfied with it. Unfortunately, there are some frivolous people on E-bay and similar sites. I would be careful with buying equipment that can quickly beat the players. . I personally use small Logitech models because of traveling. When you add SpaceMouse to this, it’s a completely different work culture. There are many Poles living in Georgia. Maybe you know some? You can buy a new MX3 for $100 here. Check the Polish website allegro.pl or olx.pl, Swedish (I highly recommend this one because there are few cheaters here blocket.se or tradera.se. Personally, I would buy a cheaper but new mouse. And I wish you satisfaction with the new mouse.

I hope I didn’t confuse Georgia and you’re not from the US

A very badly taken photo. This characteristic mouse shape is lost in the shadows.

I was showing the lack of size/shape difference and the wear on the MX2, There’s more than enough ‘good’ photos of either online.

the MX are not gaming mouses.

gamers tend to use the vast variety of logitech gaming catalogue.

The MX collection is office jobs and creatives with confort.

got a MX2 + keyboard. I had tried the MX3 (that was just released), didn’t really see a difference. From what I understand, the MX1 is also very close to the 2. if you can find a good deal on a MX1 it’s good already. The 2 is a good compromise I guess.

So… small but the difference. Which does not change the fact that people often try to cheat on sales websites.

no its not usa
I think you are right & after your comment I looking for some new mouses & found some from 65-80$ and I’ll buy one of them.
thanks ( I dont know any poland people in georgia, I live in kutaisi)
