Aponogeton Flowering

Recommended Posts

Sweet! I keep cutting the stalks that might flower off my aponogeton ulvaceous because I read that will prevent it from going dormant--do you know if your plant will nap now that it has flowered? I really like the texture on those leaves and would like to have that variety of aponogeton myself.

I think I’ll let this flower be and see what happens. I did cut off the last one though.
The leaves in the pic are from my Crypt Balansae. The flowering plant is a Aponogeton crispus.

I don't know if removing the bloom stalks will prevent dying back or not.  Mine bloomed and I left it alone, and it definitely did go dormant.  It had been so long that I assumed it had died, but last week I noticed it's sprouting new leaves.
