The Great Dividing Range is Australia’s greatest mountain range, as well as the world’s third-longest land-based range. It stretches 3500 km along Australia’s east coast, making it a 56-hour trip from end to finish. Winter sends large snowfalls to the Great Dividing Range’s peak tops. This snowfall is so heavy that the Australian Alps, which are located near Canberra, receive more snow than the Swiss Alps during the winter months!

One iconic feature is the Snow Gum, a distinctive type of eucalyptus tree that thrives in the snowy environment, creating a picturesque scene that’s unlike any other in the world.
