Observations

“The Tower” is a major arcana indicating mass destruction. It shows a tower on a rocky mountain. The tower is struck by lightning and toppled the crown on the top of the tower. There is fire everywhere and two people are falling heads down from the tower. The background is dark and there is smoke as a result of the fire.

Symbolic Meanings

The tower represents your own faith and beliefs. It represents your protection or safety. The fire indicates illumination and purification. The lightning indicates a sudden happening or something unexpected. People jumping out of the tower indicates the attempt to escape and find a safer place. The dark skies are for uncertainty and undecided outcomes. The clouds and smoke indicate unclarity and a continuously changing situation (the smoke is always in motion).

Colors & Numbers

As for the colors in “The Tower” card, there is mostly darkness. The dark night sky or the color black is for protection. The yellow color of the fire, crown, and lightning is for illumination, self-expression, and consciousness. The red color on one of the jumping people is for passion and energy. The blue color is for truth and clarity.

The number on the card “The Tower” is 16. This resolves to a single-digit number 7 (1+7). The number 7 is for “The Charriot” in major arcana with the theme moving forward. The number 7 also represents potential and ambitions. There are 22 flames which are the equal number of letters in Hebrew. They are a total of 22 major arcana cards in the Tarot. So, this indicates a full life cycle.
