Microsorum pteropus 'Narrow' is a popular aquarium plant that belongs to the family Polypodiaceae. It is a variant of the widely known Java fern (Microsorum pteropus) and is characterized by its thin, narrow leaves.
This plant is native to Southeast Asia and is commonly found in slow-moving rivers and streams. It is an easy-to-care-for plant that is often recommended for beginners in the aquarium hobby. Its hardiness, versatility, and adaptability make it a popular choice for aquascaping.
Microsorum pteropus 'Narrow' grows slowly and can reach a height of 15-25 cm. Its leaves are narrow and lanceolate, measuring around 10-20 cm in length and 1-2 cm in width. The leaves are light green and have a slightly transparent appearance. The plant attaches itself to driftwood, rocks, or other surfaces using rhizomes, which are underground stems that produce roots and shoots.
This plant prefers low to medium lighting conditions and does not require CO2 injection. It can tolerate a wide range of water parameters, but it grows best in slightly acidic to neutral water with a pH range of 6.0-7.5. It thrives in soft to moderately hard water with a temperature range of 20-30°C.
In an aquarium, Microsorum pteropus 'Narrow' can be used to create a natural-looking aquascape. It can be used as a midground or background plant and can also be attached to hardscape elements such as rocks or driftwood to create a focal point. When properly cared for, this plant can provide a lush and healthy environment for fish and other aquatic creatures in the aquarium.

How much does shipping cost?
Shipping starts from £4.99 up to 5kgs on a tracked 48 service. If you want it faster (recommended for plants) then choose Tracked 24 £6.99) or DPD Express Delivery (£8.99).
How long does shipping take?
Not long in general. DPD is the fastest service available and if you order before pm we'll dispatch the same working day. DPD aim to get the parcel to you in 1-2 working days (excluding bank holidays).
Is there tracking available?
Sure but only once your chosen delivery service has scanned your parcel. Tracking will then be sent to either your mobile phone or email address.
